| İskemleci 1949 yılında Nevzat Öke tarafından kuruldu. Nevzat Öke, 1933 yılında Baf kazasına bağlı İstinco (Tabanlı) Köyü’nde doğdu. Kıbrıs’ın tanınmış sandalye ustasıydı. 1954 yılında Mahmut Paşa Sokak’ta evinin yanında dükkan açan Öke, işitme engelli olduğu için dükkanı eviyle iç içeydi. 2018 yılında İskemleci’nin torunları Melihat ve Gülfer Öke kente hayat vermek ve onları yaşatmak adına aldıkları mirasa sahip çıkarak farklı bir konseptle ”The İskemleci’yi”hem turizme hem de tüm Lefkoşa halkına tekrardan kazandırmıştır. |

| Iskemleci was founded in 1949 by Nevzat Öke. Nevzat Öke was born in 1933 in the village of Istinco, Paphos. He was a well-known chair master of Cyprus. In 1954, he opened a shop next to his house on Mahmut Pasha Street, and because he was hearing impaired, his shop was intertwined with his house. In 2018, The Descendants of Iskemleci, Melihat and Gulfer Öke, have reintroduced “the Iskemleci”to both tourism and the entire people of Nicosia with a different concept by owning the heritage they received in order to give life to the city and keep them alive. |
