İhsan Dağı’ya göre özgürlük kelimesi çok kullanılan ama az anlaşılan bir kavramdır. Neredeyse herkesin bir özgürlük tanımı ve öncelik verdiği özgürlük alanları vardır. Ancak bu, özgürlüğün, sınırsız sayıda tanımı olan, üzerinde konuşmayı anlamsız kılacak kadar mutlak bir kavram olduğunu göstermez.
