| It seems, therefore, that in the case of Muslim students, who attend public primary schools, they have to learn English as part of the curriculum and: • are taught the English language alongside with the rest of the students who have Greek as their mother tongue • some of them are of Turkish origin and speak Turkish as their mother tongue • some of them are Pomaks and speak pomak as their mother tongue • some of them are Rom and speak romani as their mother tongue These students are taught English as their first foreign language on the premise that Greek is their mother tongue. |

| Bu nedenle, Devlet ilkokullarına devam eden Müslüman öğrenciler söz konusu olduğunda, müfredatın bir parçası olarak İngilizce öğrenmek zorunda kalıyorlar.: * anadili olarak Yunanca olan öğrencilerin geri kalanıyla birlikte İngilizce öğretilir • * bazıları Türkçe kökenlidir ve anadili olarak Türkçe konuşurlar * bazıları pomaks ve kendi anadili olarak pomak konuşmak * bazıları Rom’dur ve ana dili olarak çingene konuşurlar bu öğrencilere yunanca’nın ana dili olduğu varsayımıyla ilk yabancı dili olarak İngilizce öğretilir. |
