| Oksijen yetersizliği olan, tehlikeli atmosferin olduğu veya olması beklenen ve 1,2 m’den daha derin olan her kazıda gaz ölçümü yapılır. Tehlikeli atmosferler kazı yakınında çöp sahası bulunması ve tehlikeli maddelerin kazıya yakın bir yerde depolanmasından dolayı oluşabilir. Oksijenin %19,5’ten az ve %23,5’ten fazla olduğu ortamlar, yanıcı gaz konsantrasyonunun alt tutuşma limitinin %20’sinden fazla olduğu durumlar ve konsantrasyonları limit değeri geçen tehlikeli maddeler de tehlikeli atmosfer kapsamındadır. Tehlikeli bir ortamla karşılaşılması durumunda çalışanın buraya girmesine izin verilmez. Kapalı Alan Prosedürü içerisindeki güvenlik önlemleri ve kontrolleri gerçekleştirilerek kazı çalışması başlatılır. Bu kazılardaki ortam düzenli bir şekilde test ve kontrol edilir. Bu testler eğer kazının içinde çalışan bir araç varsa ve kaynak, kesme, yakma gibi işlemler yapılıyorsa sıklaştırılır. Acil duruma karşı solunum cihazı, kurtarma ekipmanı gibi her türlü sağlık ve güvenlik araçları bulundurulur. Kazı alanı dışında iletişim araçlarına sahip bir adet gözcü bulundurulur. Kazı alanında toz oluşumuna karşı sulama imkânı sağlanır |
