| Yaklaşık 8 büyüklüğündeki 1509 İstanbul depremi Bolu’dan Edirne’ye kadar hissedilmiş ve hasara yol açmıştır. 6 m’yi geçen dalgaların Yenikapı’da surları aştığı tarihsel belgelerden anlaşılmaktadır. 10 Temmuz 1894 tarihli İstanbul depremi sadece Anadolu’da değil, Bükreş ve Girit’te dahi hissedilmiştir. Deniz seviyesi önce alçalmış, daha sonra kuvvetli dalgalar İstanbul kıyılarını vurmuştur. Tsunami dalgasının yaklaşık 6 m olduğu gözlenmiştir. 18 Eylül 1963 tarihli Doğu Marmara depremi (Ms=6.3) sonrasında Mudanya kıyılarında tsunami izleri gözlemlenmiştir. 17 Ağustos 1999 İzmit Depreminin de tetiklemiş olduğu bir heyelan neticesinde tsunami Tütünçiftlik ve Hereke dolaylarında 2.6 m, Değirmendere’de de 2.9 metreye ulaşmıştır. |

| The 1509 Istanbul earthquake of about 8 magnitude was felt from Bolu to Edirne and caused damage. It is understood from historical documents that the waves passing 6 m exceeded the walls in Yenikapi. The Istanbul earthquake of July 10, 1894 was felt not only in Anatolia, but also in Bucharest and Crete. The sea level first fell, then strong waves hit the coast of Istanbul. The Tsunami wave was observed to be about 6 m. After the Eastern Marmara earthquake (Ms=6.3) of September 18, 1963, tsunami traces were observed off the coast of Mudanya. As a result of a landslide triggered by the August 17, 1999 Izmit earthquake, the tsunami reached 2.6 m in Tütünçiftlik and Hereke and 2.9 meters in Değirmendere. |
